Righto.
The vanilla OOC channel has become a bit more crowded of late, with our friendly new posters showing up, I am beginning this, a new channel, to direct some of the conversation into a new place. Just to stop all of the conversations from all flowing into each other.
Certainly, if we should remove anything from the OOC it should be the flames. If we want to see flames, participate in the act of flaming or anything of the sort, you can come here. The place dedicated for that purpose especially.
So, if you feel the overwhelming urge to post "PS@ are teh sux0rz" or anything of the sort, this is the place.
However, I think the big topic for the moment is the standard of typing we should employ in our posts. Now, I am of course right, because I am smarter than the people that are disagreeing with me. And I must be smarter than them, because I am right.
Ah, I love my circular logic.
Oh, and Mr Stent, our computing teacher, says that we should not double space after full stops. However, he does say some pretty suspect stuff.

You are never right, you foul mouthed brat. You should just pack it up before I leave pole marks on your face. (is that the right idea?)

Here's a trick I learned a while back...
[flame]How can you honestly quote Mr. Stent? He's not your computing teacher, he's just kind of the guy who sits in the computer room and complains. He doesn't know the first thing about word processing. [/flame]
I say we should institute a ranking system. If you're a n00b, no spaces after full stops. If you can spell, but don't have that many posts, you can have one space. For those that consider their grammar immaculate, you get two spaces.
And just to add to the atmosphere:

Yeah, ok. I can't disagree with you on the Mr Stent stuff.
I really have no idea what is going on. You mother-truckers see me open up my own little thread, and all simultaneously decide to open your own. Furthermore, there are talks of an emigration to another location, using obvious clues so the n00bs can follow.
I would post more, but food is more important than you guys.
Bah!

OK, so this is where I insult Sepia Von Penisish?
Look you fuck-tard, your spelling would make the Craptacualr cringe. Your blatant disregard for anything remotely grammatically correct makes me want to throw up. I feel nauseous reading your posts.
Now, I don't consider my grammar to be immaculate. I know perfectly well that it isn't wonderful. However, I believe that in this situation, grammar is relative and that you should burn in hell.
I guess that this was more of a "Bitch about Seathia" post than a proper flame. Next time I'll try a bit harder.

I forgot what I was going to say. So, instead of just not posting, I will reserve this spot. Post number six. Has a nice ring to it.
I know. I'll retire here.

Hey Sepia - learn to spell - or I will tell all about a certain incident from intermediate school camp - you know, the one with the air bed pump.

I think that if you didn't just tell everyone what happened, you did worse. Mental picture, everyone. *Shudders*.
Talwin, how dare you pull out a nuke? You do know what happened last time, don't you? Shazus. You seemed to disappear from quite a few threads though, didn't you? Clarke did that in a way that was less... well, stupid, to put it flatly, but I guess yours was a more obvious joke.
So did you do that for the same reasons as Clarke, or does this signal a larger withdrawal for you?
And Mr Anderson, if you are going to write a decent sized post like that, put in a few paragraphs here and there. You will find that more people will read it. You did redeem yourself in some ways though, I guess.
And act all nice now. As an admin, kudos points carry twice as much weight as before.
Still nothing, but you get the point.

It will not be said of me that I am one to do the same thing twice.
I would like to flame Sakals for bumping the stittiest post on all of incident.
Look guys, I remember posting on the PA forums, and waiting for mods to do anything took days, if not weeks.
Except that there there were at least 10 categories, each one housing around 30 active posts at a time.
2 mods to a board.
Here we have 2 mods and about twelve threads. One of which needs to die.
I really don't appreciate your idleness and passivity in this situation, and would appreciate it if you would do something to relieve this board of Seathia's thread.
Sorry about that one, Tiberius. That is abuse #1 of mod powers.

This is my first flame so I would appriciate it if you didn't interrupt. It's a solemn occasion. 'The first of many', one might say.
I can't claim that I have huge experience with forums. I've only ever frequented one in my life. While there, I stayed mainly in the OOC board, where I observed a great variety of content and attitudes. I also stayed in a sub-community board with fewer members, where everything was crazy most of the time. My entire career spanned only 400 posts.
But even in my meagre experience, I had a chance to observe some things.
For example, the way some people insisted on posting an add for their clan on the mapping forum.
"This is the mapping forum," said the mod, "you should be posting in the OOC forum."
"Wha! But nobody would read it there!" wrote the indignant poster. "All my friends read the mapping forum, and no-one reads
Curses, I got distracted reading my chat logs. I honestly will finish this off.
